Bevespi Aerosphere – Consumer Site

Overview

Bevespi Aerosphere was a new drug from Astra Zeneca for the treatment of COPD.
With the older target audience and the chronic persistent nature of COPD our primary focus was on symptom management, taking control of their condition and optimism at returning some normalcy to their daily routine without as much fear of limitation. We wanted to create something that mirrored the treatment being offered. Something open, airy, breathable, and fresh.
As the art director on the project I worked on initial concepts for the site and oversaw full development of layouts with support from the designers on our team. I presented the work to our clients at multiple levels, and worked directly with our developer-vendor to bring the site to life.
Please note: This project was undertaken in an earlier stage of my career before I had transitioned to product design. As such there was less of a focus on the user experience side of the work as I was more entrenched in visual design and art direction at the time.

The homepage design for Bevespi.com. I wanted to lean into the concept of open, airy space with plenty of breathing room. Using the brand element of the lattice to play with the idea of expansion, undulation and breathing. The alternating contrast of colouring on the homepage defining the bands of content also plays with the idea of breathing in and out as each section alternates.

An internal content page on the site. I worked closely with our devs to make the inhaler x-ray graphic interactive so as the user moves their mouse around the graphic, the circle element follows along revealing more of the inhaler. A small touch that adds a feeling of uniqueness and polish.

An example of some animation on the site.
